About

MY BACKGROUND

Hi! My name is Morgan. I earned my Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology and in Zoology from Colorado State University in 2018. In 2022, I completed a Master of Science in Veterinary Medical Sciences with a concentration in Shelter Medicine at the University of Florida. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University, with an anticipated graduation date of 2027.

I am a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Colorado and have practiced for nine years across a wide range of multidisciplinary settings, including research, companion animal, large animal, exotic pet, and emergency medicine. My specialty experience includes shelter medicine and community outreach, parasitology, dentistry, reproduction, rehabilitation, and sports medicine. In 2019, I stepped into leadership and continue to serve our local community as an interim Practice Manager and Administrative Consultant on an as-needed basis at PETS Emergency Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner in Greeley, Colorado.

As a veterinary student, I am deeply committed to expanding access to veterinary care in underserved regions of the United States and am especially passionate about serving unhoused people and their pets. I have a strong interest in high-volume spay and neuter and other soft tissue surgical procedures, with a personal goal of completing 500 surgeries prior to graduation. I am dedicated to using my skills to improve animal welfare at both the individual and community levels.

Beyond veterinary medicine, I enjoy training my two reservation rescue dogs, Res and Bannack, along with our Bluetick Coonhound, Hashbrown, in agility, scent work, and bite work. My husband and I love spending time outdoors hiking, road-tripping, snowshoeing, camping, paddleboarding, and chasing the incredible views our beautiful state has to offer.
